Dear Email Customer,
Over the last few months, Integrated Broadband Solutions, our network systems support vendor has experienced multiple email problems, issues and challenges. I am writing you today to tell you about some of what has happened and the plans going forward.
First of all, let me apologize for the problems that you have experienced with your email and assure you that at no time has Plantation Cablevision taken your business for granted and that we have been working with IBBS to correct the issues since they began. It is important that you our customer understand we have actively engaged IBBS to provide a solution that would provide our customers the best product possible. I’m pleased to tell you that a plan for the permanent solution is now in place. Before I tell you the good news, please let me tell you that IBBS, with our encouragement, has been pursuing a third party email provider since January. We held a very serious discussion with IBBS management in February and were informed that the search process had been narrowed to 3 vendors. The process for selecting a vendor, completing an agreement, developing an implementation plan and then executing that plan is complex and took more time to complete than anyone involved was happy with.
I am very pleased to tell you that IBBS will be migrating email services to Google. The project is planned to start in early to mid June and has a planned completion date in July. It is possible that Plantation Cablevision’s customers will be on the front end of the migration schedule and therefore will experience the benefits sooner. Your email address will not change. The servers that host your email account and send and receive your email will be owned and maintained by Google. Google is the worlds largest email provider and is well known for the reliability of their product. Some of the key benefits that you our customer will receive are enhanced spam filtering, larger storage capacity, more redundancy, larger attachments, easier use of distribution lists.
I would also like to tell you that Integrated Broadband Solution is a valued business partner. While they have unquestionably have had significant problems with the email, they have consistently provided us support on the operation of our network and have insured minimal service disruptions to our overall service, insuring the successful delivery of our Digital TV, High Speed Internet and Telephone services. They provide outstanding monitoring tools, 7 x 24 Network Operation Center and Help Desk. They are truly professionals and exhibit high core business values.
Again, we are truly apologetic for the email problems that you experienced but please rest assured that the new email service when implemented will be first class. For now, the existing platform seems to be stable and performing well. If you are experiencing problems, please call us and we will get someone to look into your issue.
